The Brussels Bachkoor
A mixed adult choir in Brussels, founded in 2006, dedicated to the music of J.S. Bach and other Baroque composers.
Our conductor: Elise Smout

At 16, Elise joined La Choraline, the youth choir of La Monnaie. She went on to study lyrical singing at the Conservatorium Maastricht, where her interest in conducting grew. She founded her own ensemble: L'Orkest. In 2009, she was admitted to the orchestra conducting class of E. Delamboye. She obtained her bachelor's degree in singing and conducting under P. Davin at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Through an Erasmus exchange in Vienna, she studied with U. Lajovic, S. Pironkoff and J. Wildner at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst. In 2016, she earned her master's degree in orchestra conducting at the Royal Conservatory of Mons under D. Gazon. In addition to the Brussels Bachkoor, Elise conducts several amateur ensembles and choirs.
